__Nearby, five modern windmills have become electriclly productive. Not finding them visually polluting, I see a certain grace in their movement... thus, I must be odd.

I don't know anyone who has these in their neighbor yet. I'm glad you don't find them upsetting. I can see the grace through your words and your eyes, D.

lol - of course I meant neighborhood. It would be painful to see these sprouting out of a neighbor!

I kind of like the wind towers. The simplicity of their shape is amazing for what they do.

A few choice words, as usual!!

We had a windmill down on the farm where I grew up. We've grown so far away from that simpler time...but what goes around comes around--happily.

There's one of these near my brother's house in Hull MA. It looks elegant against the sky, to my eyes.

I've been calling them "wind turbines" to distinguish them from the windmills of the Netherlands.

... and I know the contractor that erected the Hull "Turbines." [a more accurate lable I agree]

__The mills of which I wrote, are along RT-3, at the Kingston, Plymouth town lines. _m

I love this haiku on windmills.

Hi Magyar,
I lived in Holland for many years and really like this haiku. I don't particularly like the modern day windmills, they are a blight on our beautiful landscapes and don't really work to generate energy but that's another issue. My mind is cast back to Holland, to years of living there and to the old windmills in this haiku. Maire (Kerkedijk)
