We've all seen cats... stalk a shadow;  this, from last summer's scribble book.

If I were you, I would change L3 in order to add mystery/layers to this stunning ku. You give chance to reader to imagine/guess/decide for himself what the shadow was. Thus, you turn him into an active reader and guarantee his satisfaction:

morning stillness

May I invite you and all the haiku friends to join the first International Kukai?

I am hoping it wasn't the hummingbird.
Thanks for reminding me that I was going to put up the feeder today.

Thanks all... your kind comments!
__One can wonder:
1, Did the cat catch the shadow or the hummingbird, the kigo of this haiku;

2, do I (we) chase shadows, a metaphor for the dreams we have;

3, can we all be from time to time, the shadow, the prey?

__Smiles all! _m
