I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for whom I am not;
I'd rather be loved for who I am, than hated for whom I am not.
wake me
I walk this path
alone and quite slowly
fearing I'll disturb someone else
a trance

I like the intro, Magyar. Powerful and true.
Living in fear...the worst way of all to live. That made me so sad!
This reminds me of a great song by Frank Zappa called "You are wath you is", although it sounds goofy it is very true just like the intro of this poem.
It begins like so- Do you know what you are?
You are what you is
You is what you am
(A cow don't make ham...)
;)
I admire anyone who can write a poem in his sleep!
In a way we are all seeking that path, which will allow us to be ourselves, -- love or hate; both are an other's involvement -- we can do nothing about that, i guess
Fear of disturbing another -- If no body disturbed us we would rather have remained an animal clan -- A little fear is good as much as a little disturbance -- that makes us more humane,
well, my thought....i am one who writes in trance or impulsively, and has to remind myself I must not be disturbing another too much -- hence this long comment in response :)
Nice poem, Magyar :)

I love your words,Magyar! So much to think over.
I love how you wrote it...I remember something similar with stats something like 65% of the people will love you for the wrong reasons, 30% of the people will hate you for the wrong reasons, and only 5% will love you for the right reason...Those are the people whose opinion should matter...or something like that

Love this poem of yours. It touches my heart and soul. Beautifully expressed sentiment.
A very thoughtfull Cinquain, and made me scribble something down:
please do
disturb trances now
before ASC comes true
I am what I am do accept it
I do
Thoughtful and power, Doug. Bravo!
the path walked alone; is peopled
by so many of us, walking the path the same way
much love
