I think the new, should never ignor the old; future always begins in the past. This, from one of my scribble books... spring of 2009.

old pathway
closed by the greening trees
I still walk

And each of us have a separate past...present may be connected; future who knows?

but as we cross our paths, lets try pass with a smile....trees are cut down for making roads...i have sadly done that in past...as a civil engineer I had to do it...and Man (hope he/she lives upto that quality) was more important than trees...though we don't like hurting nature; thats only what is done often :)

a long note... for a short haiku, thats past :)

And everytime you step foward....if you have to look back...you aren't really going anywhere, i guess,

In a way thats correct, we are poets/writers or mental travellers, seeking the comfort of our homes, to write something...atleast I am :)

Oh and the important question....Going back to Spring 2009 at this point in time....does it any way suggest a repetition of what has been since then to this point? Hope not! :)

I have not started blogging to record death of the living....if you get that, Magyar....if somebody else is doing that, let them do it, though...my death is often a fascinating topic to me too :)

the new and the old nicely juxtaposed; much love...

To me this speaks the confirmation that duality is indeed an illusion - what was new is only old because we attribute time to it which in itself is also an illusion - this really put me into deep thought for some time Doug - thank you for that.

I've been thinking so much about this lately. We are really missing my husband's dad (who passed away in '07) here lately because of the new baby and how excited we know he would be...and yet, his blood already runs through this baby's veins. Amazing to think about! I really love this piece. It really spoke to me, Doug!

D, I love this. There's an area in the garden with a path that gets more overgrown each year as the dogwood and the weigelas mature, but me and the dogs make sure to continue using it. It's becoming a lovely mysterious pathway now. This haiku was lovely!

Yeah I am used to dreaming relaxing even as I work :))

But Time -- I value; as per my horoscope - my life was very short; but extended each time death came....Life's longing for itself perhaps,

Thank you for the kind response, Magyar,

Okay on the Time part...Does time require you to take all the junk of the past with you? I think, it does not...it is we, our minds that are mired in the past...and each has a right to his/her own,
