Ahead of me, they quickly crossed the road, thus... two haiku with the effort of one.
this sunrise
melts away a night of frost
the deer move
two deer
cross my morning path
breath clouds

When visiting Lappland I'm afraid of reindeers wandering in the roads. Reindeer is smaller than an elk (deer) and collision with a reindeer is mostly cosmetic.
Collision with a bigger elk is dangerous; the animal comes through the windscreen (-shield) on your belly. Many drivers died.

Two very nice haiku...
very very beautiful Doug
what a nice start to your day!
breath clouds--I love that!
Doug, thanks once again for a sensitive and meaningful comment to my post.
I have seen those breath clouds many times in the forest. They are exciting, yet peaceful.
Gosh, these are both wonderful!
São imagens selvagens - em que a vida nos reensina a ter olhos abertos às suas fascinações.

__Sandy, that warm nostrel breath, the cold air...
__Judie... I could go on and on, and on. Oh, I think I said that!
__Margie... why is it I always think less of my "scribbles" than their readers do?
__Pepper Henry... Our eyes, the keys that open our imaginations.
I truely thank you all for your glowing comments! As always!

Your frosty morning canvas, although melting, makes me want to zip up my jacket!
Your 'scribbles' are always enjoyable!
nice one haiku couple

it's always a gift to see deer in the landscape -- beautiful!
Thanks to you, I have learned many interesting things. I hope to learn still. I congratulate you for this wonderful sharing. Keep going !
